Whatsapp Replaced Text Status With Stories

The most popular instant messaging platform Whatsapp has recently launched a new feature called Stories which were copied from Snapchat. It seems like Mark Zuckerberg is not able to figure out what’s best for his business. So he ended up copying a feature called stores from a well known company Snapchat. But the result of copying the stories has turned to be a disaster. A lot of people were disappointed with the stories feature; they wanted the status feature back. Even I didn’t like that feature.

This unexpected move from Whatsapp has caused a lot of negative feedbacks for them. So, finally, they have decided to bring back the old text status feature. Most probably, you will get the text status feature in the next update. Whatsapp has confirmed that it will slowly roll out the status feature to the Android users and then for IOS users. This move should be a lesson for all those social media apps on how quickly you must react to the feedback from your users. Else, you will lose your pitch in the market in no time.

Recently Whatsapp has issued a statement in public regarding the stores and status feature. Here it is ” We heard from our users that people missed the ability to set a persistent text-only update in their profile, so we’ve integrated this feature into the ‘About’ section in profile settings. Now, the update will appear next to profile names anytime you view contacts, such as when creating a new chat or looking at Group info. At the same time, we’re continuing to build on the new Status feature that gives people fun and engaging ways to share photos, videos and GIFs with their friends and family throughout their day”.

It looks like the new stories feature of Whatsapp has given a huge set back. Even the Facebook messenger had tried these stories feature on the day one itself. But they failed miserably to capture the audience’s attention. So, messenger removed the feature later on. Whatsapp isn’t like Facebook or Snapchat; it fits into a something else. It has its own state and spot on the market. They should actually try to create something new instead of copying from others.

This sudden change in the system has broken the pattern of the regular WhatsApp users. Both the giants Facebook and Whatsapp can actually limit the growth of Snapchat by introducing new future based features. There will always be a place for new innovation in the market, it depends on how quickly you grab that spot and stick to it. So, that’s it for now, you will get the status feature back in the upcoming update. It’s time to put an end to this article, do let us know your opinions and thoughts regarding this fall back of Stories feature. Also, if you’ve any suggestions regarding our site, feel free to comment below in the comment section. We’ll be more than happy to take them.
